One flat bar product range stocked by GAM Steel is EMBAR® steel. This versatile flat bar product is manufactured in Australia using two methods depending on thickness.
The precision machined edge products come in up to 12mm thick and are produced from hot rolled coil made by BlueScope. The hot rolled coil is slit into narrower strips, which are called mults, these strips or mults are then cut into bars.
A key benefit of the precision machined edge manufacturing method is the removal of burrs and sharp edges, producing a product that has precise edges ideal for welding and fabrication.
Thicknesses 16mm, 20mm, and 25mm are produced using a thermal cut edge from steel plate feed product, also produced by the BlueScope mill. Manufactured by the BlueScope mill in Australia, EMBAR® steel conforms to relevant Australian Standards AS/NZS 3679.1:2016.
